Holy Celestia this took a long time. I should never have put so much shading and detail into these comics... but it's too late now. I'll have to finish it the way I started
I have a sneaking suspicion that there are some would would interpret this as crossing a boundary: removing actual consent and so forth. That's not what's happening here. Winter Willow is just afraid and wants to protect them.

so let me get this straight. she's been holding in the pain and nightmares celestia had, and has been refusing help for a long time. now they've decided to take matters in their hooves and fix the problem. but how do rook and apple feel about this? i've never seen him this, freaked out.

It's like an intervention and Crabapple organized it because he knows that she's basically killing herself with her stubborness. He on the other hand is suffering knowing that she's suffering.

So, who had "Rose Petal" in the pool?
Anyone else seeing this as the equivalent of cornering an addict in a room full of restraints and explaining the room will be locked with everyone inside until both 1) the addict has detoxed completely and 2) the withdrawal symptoms have stopped? A tragically underused method in my opinion.

hm, I see. owo Tho isn't there always a bit of light reflected in eyes as long as there is any glimpse of light in the space? Realistically speaking at least. For example, the first panel, there is light coming it and it bounces off the floor and walls. o0o Also the pony closing the door and Rook, they are facing toward the light source (at least it seems like that to me XD). I hope I don't sound too picky... ;u; I just thought there was a meaning behind the lack of light in the eyes.

Maybe so. I'm kind of making it up as I go... guessing on where light sources would be and how they'd look in this situation. Hopefully it works, but I'm not claiming perfection

I guess what I am still curious about his what they are doing. Is it that their power is being like her, able to read peoples emotions but they have some sort of pact not to use it on each other? Some sort of professional don't read the emotions of an emotional reader for keeping some things to themselves?

Indeed that's where I think some of the majority confusion is coming from; could be wrong though. As for what it is I think it must have something to do with what she saw when she saw into Celestias psyche before being blocked.

Why do I keep thinking that Willows has a Snuggling problem and this is to stop her from always glomping Rose?

I personally see this is as staging an intervention. Unless I'm wrong, and I most likely am, interventions can be staged without consent of the patient because they might be unable to give it and it's a matter of life or death.
Willow's been holding a lot back on her friends about what's she going through and even if she's not consciously thinking about it, the others are savvy enough to know she's carrying a darkness she shouldn't have to carry alone and that her abilities are suffering because of it. This might not be a matter of life or death but Willow was probably getting to the point of a total mental breakdown, spurring Crabapple into action and enlisting the others to stage an intervention. The things Willow is carrying inside and hiding away are dangerous to keep inside.
That's my current theory about what's going on.

This is definitely an intervention, but still has consent. It's not really fair because they know that Willow CAN'T refuse Rose Petal so it's CLOSE to nonconsentual, but yes, it's really putting her in danger. I think you're pretty much right on

THE STARE!!!!!! I KNEW it was Rose Petal who made her sit! Wow.......so much raw emotion in these pictures. I actually started tearing up as I read these few panels! I know this took you forever to do and was a lot of hard work, but I think it was worth it great brony! No matter how this comic goes from here, the level of commitment you have displayed in your work is reflected in your ability to convey the story so very well. BRAVO!!!!!
