Witnessing and remembering that one second, two travellers stop to
take in the view that lay before their target destination.

For the month of September I didn't start any new drawings, I'd just
hacked away at other existing and quite longstanding projects. Wow,
was this painting something! I wanted to focus on the larger shapes
and the transition from warm to cool when working on this piece. Not a

surprise again, but "Standstill" was another spontaneous work. I threw
some colours and textures onto the canvas for practice, then continued
painting it into this landscape concept. I based the land around mixing
the size of various objects; the arcs and ovals almost stand as keyholes,
while the subjects and the mountainous land appear dwarfed. I've also
meant to try something out with a clock/time theme as well, so those
elements definitely inspired a lot of the faraway structures.

This was one that motivated me amidst being caught up with life and
school work, and one that I really wanted to return to in any spare
time to finish. I want to draw personal art so much, but priorities
