Thanks! His face was really fun to do! I had to use about five different photo references before I found all the bits I used to help me make it. An eye here,..a mouth there,..the spines from another, a unique snout,...etc... I then put it all together and when I paint it,..all the elements blend into one whole quite nicely. I then add the extra features, like the extra lighting to make the eye really special and deep, bringing out the mouth a little more and giving him a bit of a human-like expression at it's edges... that type of stuff...
