Yup, some of her outlines are a bit too surreal/cartoon-like but the overall is amazing! I love this artwork (I guess I'll fave it though!)

The background really embraces the whole picture with such a warm red, the whole picture looks great with those warm reds. I can tell you put a lot of work into that. Other than that the girl is prety cute and the whole picture is great, keep it up!

the shading on her paints and lower stomach

Alrighty! You did a great job with the texture and the value, and I like the artsy style you have going on here. I'd say the face is a little flat looking. it could use more emphasis in the depth to bring out the shape. The eyes, nose, and mouth appear to be low on the face and could be raised a little higher.

Thank you! You're right about the head. I'm practicing shading so I must just improve this a bit more.. also I guess removing a bit of the top part of the hair would do it for the position of the face

Critique:

1) The color choice on this is amazing! As I've said before, I love the butterfly wings and the biggest reason for this is the slow blend of colors toward the bottom! For an added effect, you should experiment with blending up higher, or blending in more shades of red for a gradiant effect! I also like the blending of colors in her pants! Overall, loooove the colors!

2) I love the lineart on this because it's not one solid line like most art. It blends and breaks in a few spots and that adds a real pop-out effect and more depth to the work! In some spots, I'd be careful of being too sketchy but there really isn't much of that! Great work!

3) The shading and overall figure of the girl is very well done! You shaded all the spots correctly and added the right lines in the right places to create her figure!

4) The choice in background is great! It's interesting in itself, but not so much that it over powers the focus of the work which is the girl!

Overall, it's awesome! I'd love to see more of your work!

No problem! And haha I'm sorry I scared you! Critiques should be half compliment half constructive critism but I have a tendency to compliment more because I love art! And your shading is incredible for it being new to you! You'll definitely be great in no time!

Sure! There isn't much to critique but I'd be careful of facial proportions especially when drawing at an angle! It helps to look at your own reflection at the same angle to know where everything goes and how far apart or how far from the edges everything is Other than that, I don't really see anything wrong with it

I'm actually terrible at drawing haha But I'm working really hard to improve! I have a lot of friends who are amazing at it and they're all so helpful so hopefully my drawings will be decent soon! haha
