Description ON MY TUMBLR: sammaloo.tumblr.com/post/63812…

A new piece in my personal series I've been working on for a while now. It consists of a series of images that have my usual cute/sexy girls, but they're all missing their arms. I don't know how many of you know, but I actually have 3 different skin diseases. I have Keratosis pilaris, Hyperkeratosis, and Dyshidrosis. These affect my arms, fingers, thighs, and feet. The worse are on my arms and feet, though. I will eventually need to have surgery to remove the extreme patches of Hyperkeratosis on my left foot, and my arms are constantly covered in red bumps and ingrown hairs. Unfortunately I also suffer from a mild case of dermatillomania, where I compulsively pick at my skin to point of bleeding and scarring. So, in addition to the red bumps, my arms are also covered in scabs, scars, and dead skin.

In short, I don't really like what my arms look like.

I've gotten a lot better at accepting what they look like, but generally I will wear jackets and sweatshirts whenever possible, only foregoing them when it's excruciatingly hot outside.

This series is dedicated to the intense hatred and disgust I used to have over my own arms. I dreaded showing them to other people, and even now are somewhat embarrassed when they're really inflamed. Wearing outfits that show my upper arm was a big step for me, and now it's just a matter of continuing my daily rituals of slathering myself up with prescription ointments (I have to use 4 different ones). It sucks lol, but it's getting better~

Ah, everything in this picture is so smooth, every line and shade just curves perfectly. ^^ Amazing job.
I would have guess about the meaning behind this piece though. I mean , I do remember you referencing about your skin condition before, but not in this detail I don't think. It sounds like you've been through a lot with it, but that you really have overcome it in a lot of ways too being able to face it like this. You're strong. ^^ I'm sure you look fine no matter what, if only it wasn't painful and something you constantly have to deal with. You're doing good though, thanks for sharing as much.

Thank you!

Yeah, I've mentioned my skin problems before in a journal I think, but not as much as this before.  But I'm happy to share, because I know somewhere someone might be going through the same thing It's definitely all psychological - I've never once had anyone talk or ask me about my arms, so the "problems" are all just my own thinking.  But it is nice to get these things out in the open and makes it easier to deal with

You're welcome.
I know what you mean, I myself have enough issues that are mostly exacerbated by my own way of thinking. I'm kind of my own worst enemy that way. Being open about it does help, again I'm glad your finding your way to deal with it well.
