i'm terribly sorry this took so long! the art was just sitting around, but i kept forgetting to color it
but i can definitely say i'm happy with the outcome (hope you are too, ~salukichan !). i ended up giving it a full background: it's sitting in an ice cream cup, inside of 'sammie's ice cream shoppe' lol. the price board is on the wall 
i absolutely love this character design: it's made of strawberry ice cream and fudge + sprinkles, it's ears/top of head is whipped cream, and it's legs are waffle cones! how cute is that?

I like the...melty splooshes on the inside of the bowl. And the pink on the leg looks pretty swirly, which gives it a better ice cream feel. Same with the ears. You do odd lil' texture coloring like that and I have no idea how!

lol, i use a mouse to color so i rely heavily on the smudge tool. all of those 'textures' and effects are just from the smudge tool
