It was the summer before 7th grade. I remember it well. There was lots of baseball playing with the fellas, exploring the field behind our house with my dog, skateboarding with best-buds Angelo, Lyndon, and Tommy along the cement corridors at David Ave Elementary School. Life was carefree and fun. By the next summer everything had changed. In one word "girls." Instead of playing ball or skateboarding it was "let's go to the pool -- there will be girls there!" Life would never be the same.--

This actually made me cry. You perfectly captured the innocence of youth and the end of childhood. Words fail me they truly do. it really choked me up because it reminded me of that last summer of My own before I was a teen and life changed forever. It makes me miss those days and long for tha simplicity again.its just so beautiful. I am sorry to carry on in such a way.

Its a really moving piece. It makes me think of running home to my grandma after a day playing in the fields and woods with My German sheperd by our house at the end of my last summer as a kid. it really got me tearing up. your work is so haunting.
