Description Been a while since I drew these critters... they wear clothes most of the time, so I tried dressing them up. Played around with a faster, looser style for this one.

A male Falxferox bicolor (left) is having a conversation with his female counterpart. She is gesticulating grandly about something with her arms; he doesn't seem quite as impressed.

So whats the falx homeworld like?

It's a tidally locked planet slightly larger than Earth, orbiting a red dwarf star (the planet is called Janus, coincidentally!). I haven't completely worked out all the details, but the planet currently stands like this:

It has less water than Earth, most of which is now trapped in glaciers and as oceans near the terminus and the night side.
The subsolar point is dry, though areas on the day side once covered in oceans are blanketed by near-inhospitable salt flats.
The atmosphere is slightly thinner than Earth's, though thick enough to allow convection to make some parts of the day and night sides habitable.
Since their star is red, most "plants" and plant-like "animals" rely on black photosynthetic pigments.

Haha, it's fine! Great minds think alike
You'll probably see something from me in the near future. I've got the phylogeny for Janusian "animals" worked out in the broadest sense, and am trying to get it down so I can post a cladogram. I've also worked out early embryonic development (how their cells cleave and how germ layers are determined) and gastrulation in "animals", so you might see that depending on how busy I am with college!

I'm curious to hear more about your ocean critters... sentient aquatic life is always interesting!

No need! Hell, even Saturn has a satellite called Janus. No one has a copyright on it

Your creatures are really imaginative and plausible looking, and not xenocentric which I really like! A healthy mix of realistic and bizarre.
