Akumu. Maikeru and Kirei were not prepared to face such a high class demon, the fight was mostly Maikeru and Kirei trying to escape from Akumu’s wrath. They were finally able to get away from the demon, but not with out Maikeru suffering serious wounds as he tried to keep Kirei from getting harmed. Kirei breaks out into tears seeing him in such a state. Maikeru kneels down and places his hand on her head pulling her closer to him. He smiles at Kirei and reminds her about the promise he made to her back when they were kids. that no matter who or what try’s to harm her he will always protect her no matter.
