Maybe, but how about the stars and stripes? I've always known Americans as patriotic people, and I see the flag everywhere I go in America, even in teenage clothing stores.

Ah, yeah. We see them a lot. Both my neighbours grow a maple tree on their front lawns (and one in their backyards). But the city suddenly decided that my house should grow a tree from China for some reason.
That makes better sense, since I just remembered that kindergartners sing the anthem, too.

!! Really? Our anthem is only played when school starts every day and international sports events (when the Canadian fans want to sing something but don't know what else to sing, like for the Olympic Canada/US hockey game)
