When you say you "dust it", do you mean you mean you actually dust the figurine, or you just have dust all over it?

They are tricky to keep clean. hmmm... I'd start by checking out your workspace, and make sure you have a relatively clean place to work. Depending on the kind of Clay you're using, it might pick up dirt and dust easily. I've been using PremoSculpey, mainly because it had a consistency I like, and most cases doesn't leave a gritty, chalky clay-dust on my fingers. Once you make sure you're working somewhere clean, and if you're still having problems try washing your hands while you're working, probably about every ten to fifteen minutes. It might be tedious, but oils from your hands can get into your clay, as well as sweat in this weather, and can dirty up your colors.

Could I maybe see a picture of your problem? I might be misunderstanding your issue here.

Thanks! I dunno why, but I always have a sense of whether my piece is a boy or a girl while I'm making it. I think it's just a certain life they breathe into me
