Description

While in California on a vacation, Scooby-doo and the gang discover a ghost haunting an old house just off one of the popular tourist beaches. The owners rent the house out to vacationers, get the money, but the occupants get scared out after a day or two by the Ghost surfer. Also, the rent is non-refundable. So once Fred says those magical words, “Looks like we’ve got a mystery on our hands” the gang gets to work. Scooby and Shaggy, of course, want to check out all the refreshment stands on the beach for clues. The house owners’ son runs a hot dog booth, so this actually works. Who knew?(at least that’s what Velma said later on). He tells them that his parents have a lot of money, despite not actually working. They aren’t even retired or anything. Daphne goes for a swim, but hears strange sounds when she nears the house before she gets near the water. She peeks around a corner and hears the owners’ whispering about something, but she can’t hear what. The wife walks away, the husband stays around, and Daphne gets knocked out. She wakes up bound and gagged in the basement. Another problem in this house was that the basement would often get flooded, though no one knew why. At least their son didn’t. They reveal to Daphne an opening in the wall that lets the water in when the tide comes in. It’s getting to be that time right now...

(Obviously, the house owners are the Ghost Surfer. It needs to be said, as does the following.)

"And we would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids."
"And your dumb dog, too!"
"Rog? rhere?"
