In God's name, why would you give Charon a Plasma Pistol? His Energy Weapons score is abysmal, unless you somehow hacked it? Sorry. It's a cool pic, but that's the first thing that popped into my head, ya know? I usually give one to Star Paladin Cross, just for shiggles. It amused me to no end (the first time I did so) when she went around one-shotting Super Mutant Masters with it. At Sniper Rifle Range. LOL.
On Plasma Pistols: Best Sidearm Ever, Fallout 3! Until you find the MPLX Novasurge, that is. That gun is made of win and rainbows.

Pure rule of cool my friend. Charon's shotgun is much better, it fires at 0 spread with .44 accuracy.

BTW, when you play, DO NOT SHOOT Super Mutants until you know they are enemies (in Vegas). Some Mutants are not only intelligent, but also friendly... Like Marcus in Lucastown.
