When I was a much younger ninja in elementary school, I would get in trouble all the time for drawing Super Mario characters too much. Fast forward several years later to when I was in college, where I took Video Game art. A project called for designing cards based on any existing IP. Of course, I had to bring it around full circle and I picked Super Mario as the property I would represent. Here are two of the 30+ illustrations I did for the project.

With the colors, I tried to replicate a bit of the style from the official Nintendo illustrations. It's not exactly the same but looks pretty good.

Drawn Spring 2013 as part of a Video Game Art class project, and retouched just recently.
