Yeah, with Spyro openly wishing that he'd be as giant and powerful as Bowser, while Mario would have a hard time with Ripto nullifying the plumber's Powerup Items' effects.

Considering that Spyro feels green with envy about Bowser's innately freakish hugeness and methods of bulking up in size, weight, mass, and overall physical power, not to mention Bowser's Giga Form, Spyro does wish to be as big and strong as Bowser in size and strength overall.

As for Mario fighting Ripto, well, Ripto would find dealing with a human being much easier for him, though Mario's going to find out how Ripto's magic may affect the plumber's Powerup Items.

And not to mention Ripto can bulk up into a hulking monster, with his scepter taking on club form, like in Enter the Dragonfly. Mario would have a tough time actually hurting Ripto that way.
