i'm back TwT/so sorry my commissioner for let you wait so long
here is my WIP pixel art (it's my hell thesis TwT)
Tool - pencil in photoshop
1. sketch and resize
2. make the outline
3. base colored
4. make the shadow
5. add more deep shadow
6. add some environment color
7. add rim-light
8. add hair hi-light

Ahh wow, that end result is cuuute! But did you use a non-pixel brush for step 6? The gradient is so smooth, I kinda can't believe the colors were hand-picked and placed.

Do you add the environment color with the gradient tool, or with the pencil? It's just that the blending is SO well done!
