Finished! 25 of my favorite heroines. There were so many that I had to leave out.

Fa Mulan from Disney's Mulan
Batgirl, Barbara Gordan from DC Comic's Batman
Rogue from Marvel Comic's X-Men
River Tam from TV's Firefly and the movie Serenity

... having a sparring session. Mulan vs. Batgirl seemed fair. And as long as Rogue doesn't use her powers & River leaves her giant swords at home, we should be fine.

Queen Susan Pevensie from C. S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia
Princess Leia Organa Solo from Star Wars
Raine Elsie Johnson Bergrenn from a book I'm writing!

... having an shooting contest. Susan's a good shot. Leia with the blaster - it's not really a precision weapon. And Raine just learned how, so she's pretty bad. Susan's winning for sure.

Aravis and Hwin from C. S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia
Angharad "Harry" Crewe, Harimad-Sol and Sungold, Tsornin from Robin McKinley's The Blue Sword
Lady Aerin Sol and Talat from Robin McKinley's The Hero and the Crown

... having a horse race. 3 way tie.

Belle from Disney's Beauty and the Beast
Evelyn "Evie" Carnahan O'Connell from The Mummy and The Mummy Returns
Polly Plumer from C. S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia
Elizabeth Bennet from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice

... I can just see Evie finding some secret book and Belle getting all excited about a book. Polly's curiosity would get the better of her. Lizzie would scorn the thing, but be secretly interested.

Hermione Granger from J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter Series
Sophie Hatter from Diana Wynne Jones's Howl's Moving Castle
Egwene al'Vere from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Series

... Here Hermione is learned about other magical cultures. Sophie is trying to get Califier to behave. Egwene - I don't really remember what their magic "looked" like. She never had a ajah in the book, but I imagine that she would have been blue.

Meg from Frances Mary Hendry's Quest for a Maid
Jill Pole from C. S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia
Jane Eyre from Charlotte BrontΓ«'s Jane Eyre
Hadassah from Francine River's A Voice in the Wind and An Echo in the Darkness

... Meg's such a fun character, I can see her dragging the other girls along for a fun dance. Jill's enjoying herself & pulling poor Jane along, who really doesn't know what to make of the whole thing. Hadassah has a tambourine and she was a good singer before, maybe she's pretending to be Miriam. And those are scars on her, for those of you who don't know the story... it was lions... in the Colosseum.

Luna Lovegood from J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter Series
Queen Lucy Pevensie from C. S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia
Rose, Nyamh, Ebba and Myk from Edith Pattou's East
Jane Porter from Disney's Tarzan

... here the girls are discovering new and exciting creatures. Luna is entranced by the flying snake-like things. Lucy is in love with the little baby polar bear looking thing in Rose's lap, supposed to represent Myk, kinda-sorta. And Jane is carefully keeping her sketchbook away from the giant blue squirrel.

(I can't get the Amazon links to work, so if there is no link above, then the girl is from a book not a movie, though occasionally both.)

ENJOY!

Oh this is wonderful. Loving all the Harry Potter (though no Ginny?), Narnia (especially the less well known Jilly Pole and Polly Plumber) and really really loving Hadassah. I love Francine Rivers' books too much for it to be healthy

I know I commented this already but I often remember this picture when I read of the characters you present...and I've just read The Blue Sword and I loved it . I must read The Hero and the Crown (the sooner the better, but I must order it first)
What I appreaciate about this picture the most is the choosing of characters - not many people have read Howl's Moving Castle or Robin Mckinley's books. I also love Leia and Susan or Evie from Mummy ("I am librarian, Mr. O'Connell!).
I noticed that although I like this picture so much, I haven't favorited it yet - well I did now .

This is sooo cool! I love it! It's absolutely fabulous and soooo in character. Have you ever read The Golden Compass? Because it might be cool if Lyra was in there...Just a random suggestion. I do have a question, though...weren't Nyamh, Ebba, and Rose the same person in East? Because her name was Ebba Rose, but her dad always called her Nyamh, because she was really a north...and I thought Myk was what the Troll Queen called Charles the White Bear. I don't know. I just finished the book, I loved it! But yeah, great piece!!

well thank you! yes, Nyamh, Ebba, & Rose is all the same person! - Wasn't East a great book!? I like Lyra from The Golden Compass, I think she's a strong, sweet girl, but I'm not that fond of the books themselves. There were so many characters that I wanted to include, but just couldn't fit! Maybe I'll make a part II someday

Yes, I loved East. It was the ultimate fantasy novel for me! And you did such a great job portraying all the characters--I didn't expect anyone to appreciate Evie from The Mummy, and you did! Again, fabulous job!

Disregard the Myk thing. I skimmed instead of read fully. My bad.

It's a completely amazing book!! I love the way she arranged the chapters. Also it was such a great idea and very well done. I'm amazed more people haven't read it. But then again I never would have if I hadn't read through all my books at summer camp and happened to have a convenient friend with steal-able book stuff.

That is so cool, i'm making that my wallpaper now. I think you missed out Eowyn from lord of the rings though. Thanks for adding in Sophie Hatter though- could so easily have been forgotten, i still want to know how come Howl gets all the credit at the end!

I like very much the idea of putting random characters to one world. It's kind of inspirating. What would they say if they met? Would they be friends? (or they were? I hate conditionals in english, I'm never sure if I use them well! )
...and so on
I really like this picture and wish you luck for future!

Yes, I think it would be very interesting to see how different fictional (or real) characters would react if they met in real life.

Your heroine project looks absolutely gorgeous. I can't quite put a finger where Sophie Hatter is but it's really cool how you did alot the enviromental effects on the backgrounds in each scene. My favorite being the sunlit effect behind Mulan, Rougue, Evie, and Batgirl. It's a wonderful piece of work.

thank you so very much! I had a lot of fun making it. Sophie Hatter is from the book Howl's Moving Castle that was also made into a movie, which was very different from the book, but still good.
Thanks so much for your continued support
