Description Here's my tribute picture to Jerry Nelson, who has died last night of complications from the various cancers and respiratory diseases from which he suffered in his final years.

This drawing features Robin the Frog sitting on a rock, mourning the loss of Jerry Nelson.

I had that "Halfway Down the Stairs" song while I was drawing this piece.

We will miss you so dearly...

Jerry Nelson did The Count, Herry Monster, Mr. Johnson (Grover's reccuring customer), and Sherlock Hemlock on Sesame Street, Floyd, Robin the Frog (pictured in this drawing), Camilla the Chicken, Lew Zealand, and Crazy Harry on The Muppet Show, and Gobo Fraggle, Pa Gorg, Majory the Trash Heap, and Architect Doozer on Fraggle Rock.

Other characters Jerry performed included Scred from Saturday Night Live, Emmet Otter from Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas, Balthazar from The Christmas Toy and The Secret Life of Toys, The Ghost of Christmas Present from A Muppet Christmas Carol, and Mad Monty and Blind Pew from Muppet Treasure Island.

No. Jim Henson did Kermit the Frog from 1955 until his death in 1990. Then, Steve Whitmire took over the role of Kermit starting with The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson in 1990 and he still does him to this day.

That's a wonderful drawing you did I grew up listening to his various voices from the sweetest and innocent as Robin and Gobo to the dark and menacing as High Priest SkekZok from Dark Crystal(stabbing Kira in the back) and Blind Pew(giving Billy Connolly the Black Spot!). The Ghost of Christmas Present was the one who brought warm feelings about Christmas alongside a great like Michael Caine.

The best known was the Count for teaching children to count, charming Countesses with proposals and waltzes to dating Susan Sarandon in the rain, asking Patrick Stewart for help in moving number 1 and directing Liam Neeson!

He was also the Big Bad Wolf from the "Classic Theater" special. So he's played a vampire and wolf!!

Actually, that's Robin the Frog, Kermit's nephew.
And yes, I hope Jerry goes to Heaven, too.
Jerry suffered from emphysema for several years.
I miss Jerry so much... :iconsadplz

He's most recognized as performing The Count on Sesame Street.

Yup. He sure will.
Matt Vogel will begin taking over The Count either in late 2012 or in early 2013.
I have been dying to hear Matt's Count von Count voice. (No offense)
Matt did great jobs with Robin, Floyd, Camilla, Lew Zealand, and Uncle Deadly.

I miss him too. His characters weren't as popular as most of the Muppets but they were always some of my favorites. Beautiful drawing, sweetheart and take care.
