An update to Yusei Minami/Latios Painterly WIP --and also my very first art in SAI!!Man, so much changed since the last WIP. Most of the changes were made in SAI rather than in GIMP. I think my new favorite brushes are Airbrush and Blur, though I certainly miss the keyboard shortcuts of GIMP and Photoshop very much. I realized that I'd forgotten to add Yusei's belt/skirt and scarf the first time around; and I also redrew his hand based on a reference from DA. The shading looks amazing here; I'm not even sure I could've done that in Photoshop, and I didn't need a tablet at all to do this either! Never mind the fact that I couldn't possibly make this all beautifully painterly in any prior medium. Finger-painting might be my new norm XD This was quite fun.
That face, though... I drew a decent pair of eyes, but they looked so out of place... It'll be fun figuring out what sort of eyes match this art. XD
