Description A commission for . This is Sylvanas Windrunner (undead) from World of Warcraft.

This artwork was actually quite interesting because all my references were quite different! The differences between the concept art, official art, and official game render actually vary quite widely, so I took some elements from each and sort of made my own version. The background is based off the castle dungeon.

Very nice! One of my fave wow characters, whom I mean to cosplay some day. ^^ You did a wonderful job on her! And it's very nice that you didn't make her look totally anorexic like a lot of people do. :S

Thank you! I consider that quite a compliment! I did try to make her quite skinny, since the model and official artwork both depict her with slightly cramped organs, but I didn't want to do it to the extent that she appeared anorexic. It was also important to me to give her very large feminine hips (I liked that about the official artwork) but "smaller" breasts like the concept artwork.

I thought it looked amazing when you showed me the initial sketch. Now that I see what you've done with the colors, I love it even more! As you can probably guess, Sylvanas is my favorite NPC in WoW. I used to have my undead warlock run all the way down to her chambers just to poke her and listen to her speak. She's got the same voice actress in WoW as Infested Kerrigan in Starcraft (original and broodwar) and it suits her so well.

But back to fangirling over your version: I think you did a great job capturing her grace and quiet power with pose and expression. The background fits perfectly and I hope it wasn't too much of a pain to do.

I'm so glad you like it so much! And I'm glad I was able to do a good "version"!

Oh the background wasn't too much pain at all! In fact, I was a bit worried it might look a bit too simple or rushed. But I decided I wanted to keep it really simple so that it didn't distract from Sylvanas herself.

Sylvanas My fav Faction Leader from WoW!
It's so awesome to see her smiling, and it suits her. That cunning element adds to her -lore junkie here- overall presence in this piece, Nira! And such gorgeous soft colours, specially in the fabric! Such a fantastic picture!

Admittedly I thought because there were so many ">8[" expression pictures of her, I wanted to do something different, and I'm glad it ended up fitting! I also opted for softer and more subtle colors because when I used the in-game "SATURATION RAGE!!" colors it hurt my eyes-- both artistically and literally. Great colors, but not for the vibe I was going for. Thanks again for a sweet comment! If I can impress a WoW fan with this I must have done something right.

I'm extra fussy with WoW fanart myself, there's too many of a certain type (normally badly drawn, T and A shots of Draenei ) so to see this makes me all girlish EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
SATURATION RAGE! I love that! Yeah, WoW's pretty heavy with the colours, especially if the glow effects on -has had a headache with WoW on high settings before-
