I hate my painting class because the teacher doesn't teach us Jack so in spite of that I decided to do some digital painting >< grrr....random asian girlness

This is a nice portrait; I like the muted tones and the red clip really sticks out.
However, I think that the nose could be a little more pronounced as it kind of fades back into her face. And she also doesn't look very asian, if you don't mind me saying so. Either way, nice job.

On the other hand, nice painting. Nice blending of colors and good work on the hair (the hairpin also helps). It's cool to see a more realistic approach from you, and you pulled it off nicely.

Yikes, that has to sting, and I use the word "sting" as an understatement. Lately, I've been hearing a lot of negativity regarding how some college teachers tend to sit on their behinds and not do much to help the students. For someone looking into colleges himself at the moment, it does make me a bit more cautious when it comes to finding a good school, courses, etc.
Hopefully, you'll be able to hang in there and get the job done. Nice to know that this is the only thing you have to worry about, although I sure this is a class you want to succeed in badly.

yah I was lucky that I got to learn some things from my other college, and some of the teachers here are nice. It's just this one teacher that everyone seems to not like. I heard that there was another one that doesn't teach to well, but she's nice.
and yah I really wanna learn this painting thing. cause I've never did it before >.> I can't wait till painting 2 I heard that the art head is teaching that, and he's really cool * had him for narrative illustration/ comic books* over the summer.
but I think what the teachers like this one, get the jobs so they can use the studio spaces for their own things. cause it's free. Like the ceramics teacher they had last year used the kennel for his own works. though he was a really cool teacher, he did use the studio for him self * I miss him he was a rare anime loving teacher*

every one thinks she can't teach, but we can't do anything cause the people that hired her like her >< nothing we can do.
Yet the cool teachers get the boot >.> so far they've been getting like one year teachers teaching to fill positions but I don't think any are going to stay around this year either... *sighs*
and yah I like the hair too. I love drawing hair ^^

that's troublesome... back in the days the only thing that must be done to get rid of one of those was to fill the evaluation test and tell what teacher s+cks...

no reference XD and I did do lines, I just colored over most of them.
I kind of did a thing like you do with painting like doing the under painting then going over it. like that >< in school we're doing oil painting. however I have not painted before in my life * not counting finger painting lol* and the teacher doesn't really teach us anything >< so I'm like asking around try'n to figure out how to paint. BLAH

I hate it when they do that. And even more so when they say, "Fix it". and you say "K, how?" n they say *shrugs* "Just fix it". Makes me want to rip my hair out. Have you turned in any projects yet?

yah our first painting was a gray scale still life, we don't turn anything in but instead group critiques >< I thought mine was ok for a first time painting but then I got bashed >< I think it's cause I don't really know anybody there since I had transferred so they said nice things to their friends and such but I ended up getting the but end of the stick.
one kid said something about my stuff like I really liked the background and others did too, but he goes I don't like it, and doesn't give a reason why. yet when we get to his picture ( which he spent a day on) he got nothing but praises >.> ugh!

-.- yup. I hate that. I also hate that every once and a while you get a whole class full of those obnoxious artists who only let you into their group if your obnoxious too. We've got our first critique in 2-D art on Tuesday. Everyone in there is pretty cool though. They'll find stuff good and bad and actually give you reasons for saying what they do. I wish all classes were like that.

she always made me go WTF?!?! lol but at least I LEARNED from her.
