Description kicks for martial arts

I use to take Taekwando so here are some basic kicks X3

1. prep for round kick- the leg is drawn back body turned sideways

2. heal kick- first position front stance *kicking leg in back other leg in front* ready like a reverse front kick but instead leg is pulled straight up, knee not slightly bent. when to make contact, leg draws down by your force and the pulling force of gravity. Also a good stretching kick

3. side kick- body turned sideways like round kick but instead knee is pulled into the chest before strike

4. back kick- kick boxing move, reading within a front stance but this time the leg that is in front will execute the kick, pull knee up like a front kick and then bend forward. then kick backward. like mimicking a donkey or horse kicking

5 and 6- the difference between round kick and side kick, Round kick- impact blow with the flat surface of the top of the foot. Side kick- impact with the ball and heal of foot, toes pointing towards the ground

7. front kick- kicking with the front leg, knees slightly bent and toes pointing towards the ceiling

8. reverse front kick- in front stance kick with the back leg, knees slightly bent, toes pointing towards the ceiling

Wow this is excellent. I do martial arts too not Taekwondo though I do Hapkido. The only thing i see that's different then our style is in the back kick we twist over the same shoulder we're kicking with so we can see the target...i'm not saying you're wrong it's probably just s style difference so i take it you don't take martial arts anymore?

yah I learned that back kick from my college PE course. it was weird and that's how he taught us There are so many different styles out there even in Taekwondo there are different styles. So yah I'm sure there will be same moves with different names depending on the school.

and yah I don't take martial arts anymore. It was fun though. I would take it up again but I had hurt my knee like 5 years ago and so it's never been the same since XC....wow 5 years ago? I feel old lol

Agreed. There are so many styles.
Ouch knee injuries suck. I hope it doesn't bother you too much.
Once again, they are excellent poses. Good job

yah all of these except for the back kick is taekwondo moves. I learned the back kick from my college PE course. the instructor taught kick boxing, boxing, karate *don't know what type * , and jujitstu.

my instructor always tells us that we are training in martial arts but a different form xD He use to do karate untill he did kickboxing. freestyle kickboxing is like karate and light con/full contact is more like boxing. But it's all based around karate type stuff.

Interesting, but I think there are more kicks in taekwondo. Would love to see you draw a butterfly, or a 720 kick

How many years have you done it for?

mmmm for about 7-8 years. I stopped doing it when I was 14 or 15 because 1. I had went over my achieved goal in getting a black belt and I ended with a second degree black belt. and 2. they wanted me to start teaching classes and well I didn't want to teach cause I'm not really a teaching type XP

I was doing it before it had been established as an Olympic sport. And as soon as I had quit, they where doing it in the Olympics. DARN could of strive to become an Olympic champion haha.

fav thing to do was sparring I kicked ass in tournaments! XD

my school had no one my size, so I never had a big chance to spar. I'm 6'4" 220 lbs when I did it, and I had to fight like 12 year olds
But tournaments were fun, mostly because i could fight people my size.

still, good for you! 8 years is a long time.

And yeah, i know how they often make you do unnecessary stuff like help teach. I got annoyed that my school always wanted you to take promotions (that cost money) or do patterns.
