Battle Angel Alita from the cult manga Gunnm is kind of my favourite pinoccioesque entry in pop culture dealing with questions like can machines have a soul and are they more than a tool used by corporate suits and soulless man? As Doctor Ido has put it nicely when Alita gets her berserker body back: 'It's just a shell. It's not bad or good. That part's up to you.'

I think the movie adaptation by Robert Rodriguez is highly underrated and I for one really like the work of the actors and the style. Did you see the movie? What do you think about it and the manga too?
