Description Fossil . Capture of Habitation
Final version . Thanks for the suggestions

I was thinking of including this as part of the depthCORE Habitat pack but I didn't, because I didn't want to. Anyway if you can be a bit more observant, you can probably see a shadow of an insect in the center, blown by something from the lower-left corner. That moment was held inside this "amber" I would say in this image. Habitat is not just about living to me. It is also a trasition from the past to now, which can happen in different forms just like this insect being captured by the amber and frozen to be seen today. Habitation in the past or the habitation in the present? Depends of the media you are in now.

The colour, the depth, the shadow, the effects all of the these have been put to magnificent use on the piece. Purely coming from an browsing person's eye this will probably be the first thing that "one" will click when they see this piece ranked in with other work on the same page: purely just from its concept and and colour; however; I don't mean to offend you but the blue render located at the bottom of the piece and the render located at the top right does not look good and does not "flow" with the piece. On the contrary I like the way in which you focus the all of the main detail in the middle and blurred the outskirts of the piece to automatically make "one" look at the centre and view the outskirts after the main attraction. Well done. I presume you use a form of Photoshop and I also presume you use Cinema 4d or Bryce, am I right?

amazing piece! *_*

i try to figure out, what this blob could be...

in my eyes, its a kind of warrior, with a long thin sword in his right hand.. "floating" to the right side while holding his right arm straight out..

The composition of this piece has turned out beautifully... I am no expert in 3D artwork nor even a novice but the insect-like shapes and the motion of them has captured the habitation very impressively

Orgasmic. I love the standout thick black, mixed with gem like colors that are so vived. They counteract the darkness of the black very well. Beautiful work.

this is really beautiful. you captured the feeling of the insect in amber really well; the shapes used are all very insectoid in nature and all suggest insects really strongly but when you look at them are all the more fascinating because they're not just insects. the colors all go excellently together as well and it has a very strong composition. i don't know much about 3d artwork but this definitely looks like it had a lot of work put into it and it really shows in the details. like i said, gorgeous work; i really love this. thanks for sharing it with us.
