My entry for Alternate Universe ContestI set the scene in medieval times, featuring them as Merlin and the Lady of the Lake.
The legend says that Merlin the wizard, half demon and half mortal, fell in love with Viviane and tought her his spells. But as soon as she learnt his secrets, she imprisoned him in an enchanted cage, maybe a tree. I like to think that Merlin was aware of her true intentions, nevertheless he let her do it anyway.
That coarse wool coat is just an idea of mine, I just wanted to set the image on dark brown-pink over a delicate background, also the "wild" look of that garment contrasts properly with the pink silky veil of the woman. Actually, at the beginning I thought of making them as a shaman and a witch, but later I liked the idea of Merlin and Viviane the most.

I adore the contrast in colors and the pose! While i'm not too crazy about Itachi and Sakura as a Crack pairing( I honestly prefer Itachi and Hana Inuzuka) I really love this picture. and it helps you chose aa King Arthur theme, a legend I adore.

Itachi's head position looks a bit awkward, likehe's straining his neck forward instead of resting it his head on the side. Of Sakura's. And really liking the details like the frayed end of the pink veil, as well as Sakura's expression (also liking the more muted color scheme btw, the way many people draw Sakura's makes you expect them to glow in the dark or something).

L'accostamento con Merlino, come abbiamo detto, ci sta: entrambi hanno avuto le mani in pasta in ogni cosa... e qualcosa di soprannaturale ed enigmatico. Nonchè, la fine è simile: lasciarsi stregare/uccidere da qualcuno che si amava
(questo Merlino è un po' troppo giovane, vabbè, ma facciamo che fosse un mago-mezzo-demone del tutto e che non invecchiasse mai, eh?

La colpa Γ¨ della Disney che ci ha inculcato l'immagine di Merlino come un arzillo vecchietto col cappello a punta! XD!
Ma considerando come agisce questo personaggio nella saga di ArtΓΉ...solo Itachi poteva avere la personalitΓ con uno spessore adatto ad impersonare Merlino

GiΓ , le versioni Disney, seppur piacevoli e lecite, hanno purtroppo la tendenza a diventare "canon" nell'immaginario collettivo, un esempio su tutti sono le fiabe raccolte dai fratelli Grimm, che parecchia gente considera come vere creazioni di Disney! (ovviamente parliamo di menti un po' pigre XD )
Sì, è vero... stando al manga, poteva esserci il leggendario Uchiha Madara che poteva contendersi un ruolo come quello, ma visti gli sviluppi attuali, in realtà è solo Itachi quello che si accosta davvero ad un tipo come Merlino, un vero individuo "speciale" di natura e un manipolatore degli eventi, stile giocatore di scacchi.

I don't like this pairing, but the way you depicted it is just great. That forest has an air of silence and you almost start to shiver from the feeling of chill just by watching it. It also fits so well with my perception of the season in reality, as for right now I'm sitting in my cosy room and can see the wind blowing through yellow trees and the rain falling on the leaf-covered grass.
I also like that coat, which makes me want to bury my hands in it, for it seems so protecting against the misty forest. And yes, the contrast with Sakura's light, silky cloth is like a symbol for how different those two characters are. Itachi's expression and body posture seems full of longing, it's like he's a part of that cold, mysterious forest that is searching for something warm and gentle to hold.
The story you based that work on is incredibly sad for me personally. But then, such stories always fit with Itachi somewhat.

This picture isn't about a Naruto pairing, to me this isn't an ItaSaku, rather a true Alternate Universe where I tried to imagine how these two may stay together. Since in Naruto both of them have committed the same mistake (Sakura treated Naruto like a child as much as Itachi did to Sasuke) I can't help but to imagine them as a sad couple. So, the story of Merlin the Wizard and Viviane (a love not returned, the sad end of a powerful wizard) seemed really fitting in my opinion

That coat is also to symbolize "the wild, the Nature" and the demonic origin of Merlin, contrasting with the delicacy of the pink silk covering Viviane, here subtle and seductive. Certain Sardinian traditional masks actually symbolizing the "Wild" and the "Mankind" have inspired me, basically ^^
