Description Inspired to chapter 508 - 4 of 4 pictures-

then Itachi said:
"We don't know what kind of people we truly are until the moment before our deaths"

I think Itachi gave to Kisame the most precious gift a man could give to another: the hope.

I really loved this chapter, it touched me deeply, surely for my personal reasons - anyway, I hope you like these pictures!

yes you are right, this scene was one of the most deep scenes in the whole series i think.
"No matter who you are...
you do not know what kind of human you are until the very end." he said :3

My favourite line of the chapter was "Itachi-san... It seems that in the end I'm not so terrible afterall."

I second 's plea!

I truly love his expressive face here. ThereΒ΄s something in his eyes
which makes you forget about every doubt and disbelief in the things he says.
Such a beautiful expression.

Ok, I'll try to make a tutorial I'm a little messy in my working process, I'm afraid it won't be easy to make something clear
About his words, which have confused and amused a lot of people, I think that were rather clear in their sense. Kisame has spoken in metaphors, drawing a parallel between the destiny of sharks and people like themselves, but Itachi has pointed out the difference between animals and humans: the free will, that Kisame seems to have forgotten with his fatalism.

Pretty please, my dear, a tutorial for hair and skin? Of course, I am not gonna imitate and I can't imitate your unique style; but I SO much want to learn your method for such expressional portraits!

I had told you this on your journal: Itachi in that panel was drawn very beautiful. He was 13-14 years old, right after he left Konoha. Yet, he was mature enough to offer hope to Kisame who was so much older and veteran in war. This incident must have been really precious for him, as it's the one that he remembers right before his end. They both had "strange" deaths, but managed to keep their honor until the end.

His stare is mesmerizing, I was looking into his eyes for much. Congrats for managing this!

I was just thinking to make one at least I'll try ^^

Itachi was even too mature for his age, Nekomata (I'm not sure to remember its name) was right calling him 'monster'
Anyway, that chapter was really fashinating, intense, suggestive
Thanks

Nekomata, you are right! He couldn't defeat this little kid, 10 years old Itachi! One of the best episodes ever, even if it was a filler one!

Yes, he was a little cute monster with cat ears.

Grandioso!!!! Un capolavoro dopo l'altro!!!!! Ecco l'esempio di come riuscire a DARE VERAMENTE SPESSORE A UN CAPOLAVORO SENZA PRECEDENTI COME IL CAPITOLO DEI "MISERABILI DI NARUTO"!! Sei veramente una MANGAKA MANCATA!! Guarda gli occhi del TUO ITACHI, guardali ! La senti la sua voce? IO SI'.... E' VIVO!.. Sei LA REGISTA, DAI METTIAMO LA KUBRICK di Naruto!! Cruda, travolgente, sconvolgente come sempre, DIO QUANTO HO DESIDERATO QUESTO APPROFONDIMENTO!!!
Itachi ormai E' TUO, chi potrebbe interpretarlo meglio? A parer mio guardando e riguardando quegli occhi ,nessuno..
S P E T T A C O L A R E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
S T A N I N' O V A T I O N !!!

Asdfghjklghljhglkfjgl vkjldfjgldofijgoijijgijd

This phrase was said by one of my favorite characters in other fandom - Babylon5 - "all we know is that we will die. It is only a matter of how, when and whether or not it is with honor."...
Itachi looks really young here - as he has to - about 14, but since he DOES understand what he says very well, he, in some ways, looks older, than Kisame. Not by age, of course, but... you know, when you first told me about this - about the hope he has given to Kisame - I understood why Kisame addressed him "Itachi-san".

Incredibly good picture!

Nivalis70 In reply to Umaken [2011-02-20 19:56:54 +0000 UTC]

Interesting anyway, I think the final meaning of all this is 'to never give up', just like Naruto would said
Itachi could be 14 or 15, I don't know... he's too mature for his age, anyway - Nekomata was right: he's a monster like every prodigy he's awesome- both wonderful and frightening -
I love to think that Kisame started to call Itachi-san just after this meeting. In my translation I read he called him that way already from the beginning... but I hope it was just an error because of a hurried work

thank you very much ^///^

Aye, the short scene is one of my favorite bits in the entire manga. Again, your very right, and I didn't put as much thought into it myself. The hope that he gave Kisame must have made all the difference.

Really enjoy your style, good work again.

I love the way you draw him. He looks so like himself and not like himself in the same time. I think it's this something in his eyes - I can catch his sadness, the truth about his life and his other emotions in them. Itachi'd got a really expressing sight.

I really love the relationship between Kisame and Itachi. Very complex and touching... in the nukenin way. Which makes it even more sad and tragic. And yet - you are right: Itachi gave Kisame hope; Itachi didn't give up on him right away - and, I believe, was a truly precious gift. I'm sure Itachi got true support in return. They were real partners.
