Well this is one of my pieces for AP art and my concentration is social issues. I worked for about a week and a half on this, and honestly I wasn't sure about putting this on dA. Well anyways this piece is about how people use clothing or lack thereof to sexualize something. My goal was to make an inanimate object (the mannequin) become a sexual object due to it's clothing. I was rewarded with success when I got comments like "why is SHE wearing that?" the person looking at it assigned gender and possible backstory/personality to the mannequin on the cardboard
I'd love to hear what you guys think! Anything I should work on? I used acrylic paint, charcoal, and ink pens

very intriguing an exploration indeed. Has a powerful portent of that futuristic solely synthetic society we seem to be headed for. Perhaps our ribald wardrobes will get the better of us all in the end -- latex lingerie on a mannequin taking on some sort of supernatural power of a Loki mask under the influence of our ever more libido driven imaginations. i wonder if you are touching on the edges of a morality tale tole by Mary Shelley/Robert Louis Stevenson .... or an outcome proposed by Jackie Treehorn. Maybe a wee bit of both are a' brewin' in your thought provoking work.

I am sorry to say that I do not know of the people you spoke of in your comment. I do however plan to research them soon. Thank you for your thoughtful comment, and yes the Red Light District is about how we are eventually going to be controlled by pur libido due to multiple every day objects being over-sexualized. It happens so very often in our society today, and though it's not necessarily an aweful, it's not very productive or beneficial. Again, thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. I truly love when people look at my art and begin to think about what u put into it
