This is one of the large paintings I began last year. This particular painting I began in November, inspired by the big freeze that took place here in Britain - the worst we have seen in two decades. I finally decided to take this back up and completed it recently.

My inspiration came from when I was taking photographs outside and the light above our front door has a lantern case. It had the largest icicles hanging from it that I have ever seen. I liked how the light reflected through it so I built on the idea from there and came up with this.

Oh, and I know what you're thinking... how the heck did those candles last that long, and in a waterfall to boot?! They are ever-burning-candles, a magic fire that never goes out
