25NCs are my personal favorite rigid-frame locos there. Notice I said 'Rigid frame', because the GMAMs are lovely

aaah yes, a GMAM, there is one in my gallery somewhere. 25NC's are awesome, but they lack that rawness of those early steamers. I am kinda partial to a class 6 too.

I think it's the deflectors that do it, too modern looking. My favorite of the GMAMs is probably 'Lyndie Lou' at Reefsteamers.

I did not have a lot of luck travelling with her on the depot day trips, both times we ended up sitting at Boksburg because of something going wrong, not with her but with signals and stuck points. eish  Was lucky enough to go on her first trip in ages to Magaliesburg though in 2010? or was it 2009?

Ah, I hate it when things go wrong outside the loco. Then you've got a loco in steam reminding you that you were going to run down the line with it.

Although my last successful Garratt ride was never, since we only have a private 2' gauge one in Texas.
