My final for 3D textures and lighting class.Omigoood, it took so long.;; I just kept adding so many little things. Even then it's still soooo simplistic. I wish I could make myself sit and do more 3D stuff, I love how it can look, but the process is just not my thing.
=Flyerfye helped with the roof material, and the lighting (he's the one who thought of using negative light to make the BG fade into darkness.) and some other stuff.
The wood material on the door/tree/winow frame is from 3Ds Max (I just made it reddish and stuff) and the ones on the rocks are from a photo on this site: [link] Sparklies added in Photoshop. P:Here's the concept sketch: [link]

I went to a fairy festival and they made a hut like this out of mud, straw, and glass! It was so cool!
The grass at the foot of the tree trunk and the lovely forestry in front make it hard for depth perception.

The only thing is the grass...maybe you could have added a rougher texture to it to make it look more like grass, less like linoleom? o.o;;
just a suggestion...I don't know 3d programs overly well. Best I can manage is a bad rubber duck ^ ^;;;

I painted them in Photoshop and just stuck them (and an opacity map) on a plane, and copied it a bunch. X3;

It's so Pretty! and somehoe the hut looks like a huge mufffin or something.... ok maybe I'm hungry. I'm not good at critiques so I won't give one except the bg is a little dark and I really can't see where the tree 's leaves are but I guess that's not really important.

i'm in my second term at a.i. in burnaby and i had a my first maya class it was funn i had modle ron burgundy room and textured t did some lighting and make a camera go around the room ^^ when i get the time to post it u should check it out!
oh and do u guys learn how to use z brush cuz the would make your scence look even better^^

Wow! Such a gorgeous setting. It's just so magical, what with the sparks and all! ^^ I like the little mushrooms jutting out of the ground...they're so cute.
The lighting of the grass gives it much texture as well as the roof on the hut. Maybe the tree bark should look a little rougher though? I dunno. Either way, it's a great piece!

Wow it looks really nice! Great jop on the lighting and textures. I think the leaves could use a bit more shading and maybe some texture. Other then that I think it looks awesome
