Rena is an Academy Award-winning director and screenwriter known for her various groundbreaking films... okay, not really. But she’ll totally be the next Guillermo Del Toro in a few years, just you wait! She just needs to finish writing that one screenplay she’s had lying around for months. (No, not the one about the zombie boy band. The other one. You know the one.) Oh, and she also needs money. Maybe a million bucks would be a good start?

“Hey, wanna tell me more about yourself? I think you’d totally make for an awesome character in one of my stories!”
- Rena, to most people she’s just met.

Despite spending most of her time dreaming up stories and fantasizing about her future Oscar acceptance speeches, Rena is a very curious girl who loves gossip and learning about the lives of everybody she meets. Her basic belief is that the best way to find inspiration is to look at real life: after all, truth is stranger than fiction, as they say. The problem? She tends to take it too far, and can quickly go from curious to just plain nosy. She’s also very indiscreet and a terrible secret-keeper. But perhaps her biggest problem is that she’s always so invested in her “projects” that she forgets to form deep, meaningful relationships with others… and herself. There’s more to life than stories — she just hasn’t figured that out yet.

Rena is also pretty bad at sticking to a single project, and she constantly hops from idea to idea, never having finished a full story. And how can you become a screenwriter if you don’t finish your screenplays?

Interests: movies, television, writing, people-watching, gossip, eavesdropping, traveling.

Okay, so this is my first OC. It took me waaaay too long to draw because I’m new to Illustrator, but I dig the way she turned out. I’d really like to RP as this character in a Total Drama fan season or something, but it’s been surprisingly difficult to find one, so if you know about any, please tell me!

UPDATE 7/6/20: Completely redid her body and updated some of her colors! It was about time. She was my first OC so naturally she had a bunch of small oddities and errors that I wanted to fix. I'm honestly quite satisfied with this new version.
