Description I don’t own Fire Emblem

“Well I guess we’re really desperate aren’t we?” Shade asked his brother as they walked around their camp.

“Yeah, taking ships and money from Plegia. That King Validar seemed a bit…too willing to help us out with the war don’t you think?” Chrom asked as they went into the command tent. Lucius and Maribelle were waiting for them and they nodded to them both when they entered.

“Ah yes, Captain we’ve checked everyone in the army, from what we can tell everyone is back up to shape now. We’ll be at full strength now for our next battle,” Lucius said.

“Good, we’ll need it for the battles to come,” Chrom said. Shade looked at him rather annoyed and Lucius scratched the back of his head.

“Milord apologies, my husband was referring to your brother. He is after all, our Captain,” Maribelle said curtly. Chrom seemed a bit unfazed by the statement but Shade could’ve sworn he saw annoyance in his brothers eyes.

“Right, anyway does that include the Feroxi army? I know that they took the most loses in the battle against Valm’s vanguard forces,” Shade asked.

“They’re still getting their wounded taken care of, Libra even went over to aid them in healing their wounded,” Lucius said. Shade crossed his arms in thought until another thought hit him.

“Wait, where’s Jared?” he asked. He knew Jared would’ve been present for this meeting; the tactician always has to be present for such meetings. Lucius and Maribelle looked at each other and then at Shade.

“He was out looking for you two, I guess he didn’t see you,” Lucius shrugged. Shade sighed and left the tent to go look for his tactician. Ever since they met that person in Plegia that looked practically identical to him, Jared has been acting strange and lately he’s been having these slight headaches.

“Ah! Get out of my head!” Shade turned to the sound of the scream, knowing that Jared was in pain. However a hand stopped him from going to it.

“I’ll get him Shade, tend to your troops,” Chrom said simply as he walked towards the direction of the scream. Shade wanted to retort something at his brother for undermining his authority so thoughtlessly and rudely but he decided against it. He sighed as he adjusted his laurel crown into a more comfortable position.

“I wonder if Sumia’s back at our tent?” he thought fondly. His wife had given brith to their little Sarah a few days ago but she was already up and about like before. Sometimes he wondered if that was due to them being ancients or just pure luck.

“Shade!” knocking him out of his thoughts, Shade turned to see his wife and best friend running up to him.

 “What’s wrong?” he asked, alarmed.

“Risen are attacking our troops!” Lucius shouted.

“What? How’d they get passed our sentries?” Shade asked. A serious of roars and groans sounded, making Shade push away those thoughts.

“Battle stations then, take those damn things out. I want the perimeter around the camp secure now!” Shade ordered as he drew his sword. Lucius nodded and ran off to go get the other Shepherds into the fight. Sumia was about to go but she tripped, making Shade catch her.

“Heh, Sumia dear, get into the air with Cordelia and start picking them off,” Shade chuckled. Sumia blushed in embarrassment as she ran off to do her task.

“Alright, here we go,” Shade said as he turned around and ran towards the sounds of fighting.

An hour later

Shade kicked a Risen over onto it’s back and looked it over before it disappeared. The battle was fairly easy to say the least. It was completely one sided entirely. He was puzzled though, it almost seemed like this was a distraction. Shade heard his brother walk up beside him and then he turned back to what he was doing.

“Chrom! Look out!” Shade turned around and saw that there was a Risen right behind Chrom and himself. He brought up his sword just in time to block it, but before he could kill the Risen, someone else beat him to it: Marth…

“Uncle! Father!” she screamed as she cut the Risen down. Shade looked at her in shock, more from what she said then what she did.

“Wait what?” Shade asked. He looked at his brother and Chrom seemed just as lost as he did. Marth looked at them both skeptically but her eyes rested on Shade.

“Can I speak to you?” she asked. Shade looked at her skeptically, the blue haired girl had proven to be their friend in the past and now. Yet he was still weary of the mysterious girl. Her Falchion intrigued him the most though.

“Very well then,” he said simply as he motioned for her to lead on. Marth nodded and led him to a more private area.

“Ok, where should I start, I did tell you that I’m from the future right?” she asked. Shade nodded in response and motioned for her to go on.

“(sigh) look here at my eye,” she sighed as she walked up to him and showed him her left eye. His eyes widened when he saw the mark of the Exalt in her eye.

“Lucina…” he said softly. He looked at her Falchion and he wondered why she had that one instead of his, he was sure that if his children proved strong enough or he died that he’d pass it on to one of them.

“Father!” she sniffed as she buried her head into his chest. He wrapped his arms around her and patted her head gently. He was still a bit shocked by the fact that his very own daughter was now here and she was grown up now.

“I’m sorry Father, it’s just that I…I well I…” she stopped for some reason that Shade didn’t understand but before he could ask he looked up and saw his wife and his friends all looking at him accusingly.

 “Oh dear,” he thought.

A few hours later

“Wait so Chrom, Shade, everyone’s dead?” Jared asked.

“Yes, everyone is dead. Our world might’ve been saved though if this Dastard didn’t do such horrible things to my father!” Lucina said as she pointed her finger at Chrom accusingly. Chrom backed up in surprise and raised his hands.

“Wait what?” he asked, alarmed. Lucina crossed her arms at him, her gaze filled with what looked like hurt and betrayal.

“He…stole mother from you father and then he raised me, having me believe that he was my father, while you really were. My sister was raised by you though, thank the gods for that,” Lucina said frostily. Shade’s eyes widened and he turned to Chrom.

“What? I’d never take my brother’s wife!” Chrom defended. Shade looked at his wife after that and she immediately shook her head and hugged him tightly.

“I’d never leave you Shade, never. We’re married!” she exclaimed in disbelief.

“I’m sorry to say this mother, but you did in my time…” Lucina said sadly. She walked over to her parents and she placed her hand on Sumia’s shoulder. Shade wrapped his arms around his wife, in comfort but then something hit him
.
“Wait you said that you had a sister?” he asked Lucina.

“Yes, she came here with me actually and a few others as well. Unfortunately we were separated during the journey to the past. I have no idea where they are right now,” she said simply. Shade looked down at his wife and then at the Shepherds around him. He sighed and then he smiled at his daughter.

“Well I guess that mean we’ll have to help you find them,” he said simply.

I didn't feel like it should've been on its own as a part.
