Description I find myself in a forest. The air is cool and damp, and smells of a recently finished spring rain. The forest is dark, the sun obscured by the thick foliage high above. Small patches of grass dot the brown, earthen landscape, thick trees standing like pillars supporting the leafy canopy high above. The forest is silent, save for the sound of running water in the distance.

The water is a stream, clear and cold. The bottom is lined with smooth, colorful stones, and occasionally small fish can be seen darting around the stones, searching for plants to eat. I splash some of the cold, clean water on my face, startling the fish. It is refreshing, and the sensation brings a smile to my face. I follow the flow of the water. The stream meets another stream, and another, and another, and another still. Eventually, the stream beomce a large river.

The forest is endless, the trees continuing on in all directions for eternity. The river eventually comes to a cliff, and cascades over in an exquisite waterfall. The falling water catches the few rays of sunlight filtering in from above, scattering them and creating small bursts of rainbows throughout the area. I sit beneath the waterfall for a moment, letting the water wash away my stress, sweat and fatigue from walking. I then begin to walk again.

The stream ends in a small pool, and the water has become warm. I enter the pool and close my eyes, allowing the sounds of the forest to fill my mind. In the distance I hear birds chirping and squirrels chasing each other through the trees; a deer steps through a meadow, the sounds of its hooves almost rhythmic. I can smell the sweet scent of flowers, the familiar scents of grass and weeds. I feel myself melt into the water, becoming one with the forest as all goes dark.

Thanks! This is really just me taking a pen to paper and seeing where my mind goes, but I'm really glad to know people enjoy it!
