Description
The Thrill of the Hunt

Through darkness,
Through light,
Runs a flashing color,
His four paws beating,
Upon the dirt floor,
His silvered fur a glisten,
With rain drops heavy falling,
As he chases his prey,
Across the soil,
Of his ancestral home.
Catching up, he attacks,
Causing creature distress,
Its slender hooves kicking in defense.
With gleaming hairs alight,
His mouth in a snarl,
He closes his teeth upon its throat.
The spoils won,
The battle complete,
He turns his muzzle toward the skies.
As the lightning forks and thunders,
Out comes his triumphant howl.

Sing a song of Love

The great beast sat upon his haunches,
As he stared into the sky,
Which tonight was full,
Of moon ablaze, alight,
He marvels at its beauty,
Its grace across the heavens,
And within his throat,
There arose a howl.
He adds his voice, to the skies above,
Already full of sound,
Of other brothers,
Their cries of love,
For the moon,
For the trees,
Brother wolf alike,
In unison their voices,
Carry across the night.

Be united in cause

Brother, sister,
Brown or white,
Speckled or not,
Dull or bright,
Your color does not matter,
Your muzzles need not care,
For tonight we celebrate,
A joyous affair!
The moon is full,
And the night is long,
So join in,
This wondrous song!
It must be joyous, for at sight,
The moon does cause,
A feeling of right,

Howl with me brothers,
Sisters!
Remember your past!
Be shocked, amazed,
Astonished, aghast,
At the power of unity,
Of all alike.

Brothers and sisters,
Brown or white,
Speckled or not,
Dull or bright….
The night is perpetually never,
But the song will last forever.
