I don't think this black and white represents "good" self and the "bad" self.
I think the black self is the cloistered self, the one that is most untrue to her true self. She's plain, she's modestly clothed. This is the side she presents to the world.
The white self is the truest self. She's nude, meaning she has no inhibitions. And she's a glowing shade of white, which I think means purity (maybe not even sexual or moral, since the nudity implies to me that she is in touch with her sexuality), but purity or one-ness with the true self.
But I don't think the white self is the self she is when she's alone, letting her hair down. It's the self she smothers and hides away, even from herself. She thinks the black self is who she is, but she's not.
She's looking at the white self as though this is the first time she's seen her, which tells me she has a lot of issues that she's refused to adress. Maybe this meeting will have helped her.
This is rather sinister, but beautifully emotive.
