Description
You, Arthur, and Francis were all hanging out with Alfred at his house. You were all bored to tears. Francis sits up in his chair and looked over at you laying on the couch. He sends a playful grin and you roll your eyes. Arthur had his arms crossed against his chest sitting in another chair. Alfred came from the kitchen with his usual wide smile.

"Dudes, why does it seem everyone's so down?" He said looking for a seat. You notice and move up. Alfred grins and plops himself next to you. "Thanks." He says, his eyes glinting with the cheeriness of a child. Your face turns a light shade of pink. "No Problem."

Francis decided he had enough of doing nothing. "Al, are we going to do something or non?" Alfred looks at him sheepishly.  "What do you mean man?" He said. Arthur scoffs at that. "We're sitting here on our arses in silence Alfred." He said with his usual spiteful tone.

You look at Alfred who gives a pouting face. "I don't see anyone giving any ideas." He said. The front door opened and in came Alfred's brother Matthew. Everyone's eyes glanced at him then left him in an instant. No one really seemed to pay much attention to him. He had been the quieter and more responsible of the brothers.

He notices you and grows a little nervous. "Oh hi (name)." He said softly. You look up and smile at him politely. "Hello Matthew." You say, but then were pulled back to your friend's conversation. "Hey do you have an idea?" Alfred asked nudging you with his elbow.

You shrug your shoulders. If you had an idea then all of you wouldn't be still sitting here now would you? Matthew looks at you. He had an idea all of you could do, but who would listen to him? The only reason people even knew his name was since his brother was so popular.

"Umm, I have something we cold all do." Matthew said in a whisper like voice. Alfred was the only one ,other then yourself, to look at him. "What is it then bro?" He asked tiredly. Matthew was happy his brother responded. Yes, even he would not talk to him sometimes.

"Well, I thought we could all go to this ball they are having downtown." Francis smirked very fond of the idea of a dance. It was a very romantic thing. "I would have to dress up though…"  Alfred groaned. Arthur rolled his eyes. "It would do you some good to be formal for once in your life." He said with a smirk.

Alfred stuck his tongue out at the Brit and looked to you. "What do you think?" You blush a little. It would be nice to dance with Alfred or any of the others. Well except for Francis since he sort of scared you at times. "I think it's a cool idea." A light flush crept on Matthew's face.

He was happy too hear you approved of the idea. And if he was lucky maybe he'd get the chance to tell you how he felt. It would be a perfect moment since the mood would be all set. Arthur looked at Matthew. "What time does it start?" He asked. Matthew gave a shy smile. "It's in an hour." Arthur blinked. "That's barely anytime to find a proper suit." Alfred laughed obnoxiously. "Like you don't have a suit at home dude."

Francis chuckled himself at that. "I think he means you mon ami." You try to think of what yourself could wear. You could always wear that one dress you got almost a month and never touched since girly clothing just wasn't your thing. I mean all your friends were pretty much guys so you were classified as your average tomboy.

"That is so mean." Alfred grumbled annoyed and turns to you. "You'll still think I'm cool and not all uptight like Arthur over there if I have to wear a suit right?" Arthur furrows his brows, but doesn't say anything. Your face lit up and you smiled shy. "Of course, why wouldn't I?" You say with a nervous giggle. He always got you like this when he used his silly charm.

Alfred slung his arm around you. "Alright then, now we all better get going to be ready. You have to get all dolled up." He said making you blush more. Matthew though twitched slightly. Seeing his brother act all care free around you made him anxious. He could tell his brother liked you,  and by the way you grew flustered by him he suspected you liked him.

It only made sense though. No one ever liked him out of the two. When ever a girl came  they both liked Alfred always won. Probably because he was so confident unlike Matthew.

Francis and Arthur get up to leave. "So we'll all meet up at the entrance alright?" Francis asked looking at Alfred. He nods his head. "Yep, sounds like a plan dudes." You get up and leave his arm. "I better get going to." You say heading to the door. Alfred waved his hand and you stop at Matthew. "Thanks for the idea." You say and he blushes a little. "It's nothing, but…" He didn't know how to ask you. He wanted to be your date there.

"What?" You say looking at him questioningly. He shakes his head. "Nothing, just I can't wait to see you-ugh everyone later." He felt like a babbling idiot. You giggle cutely. "Sure thing." You walk out and head to your home.

You groan as you walk in your high heel shoes. You had to put on this strapless, baby blue sequin dress that reached to under your knees and you were hating it. You fiddled with your hair which you had used a curling iron to make all wavy and fancy since it was apparently not acceptable to go with a pony tail according to your family. You glance and spot Arthur.

You walk over to him with a smile. He had on a normal fine black suit with a blue and white stripped dress shirt.  His cuffs, collar, and tie were perfect and all. He looked like his normal efficient self. "You clean up well." You say with a grin. Arthur looks at you with a smile. "Ahh, some of us actually care how we present our self. Like your self." You shake your head. "Nah, this thing is just something I put together."

You felt a hand on your shoulder and instantly use your reflexes and slap without looking. "Ouch." A French accent said. You turn around with a apologetic smile. "Sorry Francis." You say. He shakes his head. "It's fine, but try to greet with a hello next time." You cross your arms. "As long as you keep your hands to yourself." He chuckles. "That I can't promise." You grew a little uneasy, but that's how almost everyone felt around Francis even if he was dressed with a striped suit and red tie and cuffs..

Then Matthew was walking over. He looked very cute in his brown suit that seemed t fit his great. He saw you looking at him and grew flushed. "Yo, Matt!" You call and he know has to confront you even with his nerves. "Hey guys." He says.  You walk to him and reach to grab his hand. "Come over here." He just nods and hides his blushed face.

Francis and Arthur study him and his red stained face. They exchange glances and Francis leans to whisper to Arthur. "Arthur, I think Matthew over there has a thing for (name.)" Arthur nods and whispers back. "Yeah, but Alfred likes her too right?" Francis chuckled. "Yeah, but he'd never end up with her. She's too mature for him." Arthur wasn't all that sure about that. "While yes he is a complete twit, I still think he has more of  a chance then that invisible boy over there." He pointed at Matthew real quick.

Francis grinned. "How about a proposition then?" Arthur tensed up a little. You never wanted any kind of deals or bets with Francis ,but he was quiet confident in Alfred, if the bugger could grow some manners he could win her over. "What kind?" He asked. Francis flipped his hair over his shoulder. "We help one of them and whoever's candidate kisses her by the end of tonight wins."

Arthur thought it over. "Fine then, I chose Alfred." Francis walked over to you and Matthew who had started a conversation. "Mattie, come with moi?" He says and Matthew looks at you. "Go ahead." You say and he follows Francis inside the ball. "What is it Francis?" He ask a little confused why the Frenchman wanted his attention.

"You like (name), don't you?" He says bluntly. Matthew flails his arms. "What, no I umm…" Francis puts his hand on his mouth. "Calm down, it's alright to like a person you know?" He smiles softly and Matthew stops his flailing. "Well, yeah I do think she is attractive, and really sweet."

Francis looks at him seriously. "I think I can help you get her to like you." He says flashing a smirk. Matthew gulps small. "Oh o-okay." Francis pulls out a rose and hands it to Matthew. He took it with a lost expression. "First thing, offer her this and compliment her. Then you walk off." Matthew tilted his head to the side. "Why do I l-" Francis gave him a quiet look. "Just follow the instructions and listen closely…."

Alfred had stumbled onto the scene late with his tie loose, cuffs not buttoned right, and collar disheveled  "Oh my gosh Artie, I'm so late." He said walking up to Arthur. Arthur face palmed. Great, he had to work with this. "Come here." Arthur rebut toned Alfred's cuff and straightened up his collar. He didn't mess with the tie because he had an idea for that.

"Thanks dude." Alfred said grinning like an idiot. Arthur rubbed his temples in irritation. "Now Alfred, you like (name?)" He said. Alfred blinked. "Oh yeah! She is super hot and cool!" He laughed loudly. "If you want a girl like her to like you back, then you must by chivalrous." Alfred looked dumbfounded. "What does that mean?"

Arthur face palmed. Maybe he should of picked Matthew. "It means following a code of conduct of manners, etiquette, etcetera." Alfred looked a little bored. Who really cared about that? "Whatever." Arthur slapped him lightly on the head. "Trust me and it'll work." Alfred rubbed his head. "Now listen to me…"

You stood all by yourself. You wondered where everyone else had gone. They all seemed to leave you alone. You sighed and looked around. Alfred spotted you and came to up to you. "There you are Al." You say warmly. You notice his tie being very badly put on and reach to straighten it out. He blushes a little, so far it was going s planned. "Thank you very much." He said

You were a little surprised by that but shove it away. "It's o problem." You both walk to a table and he steps in front of you pulling out a chair. You smile with a light pink blush spread across your cheeks. "Thanks." You say as you sit down. He pushes you in then sits down himself.

"So, how are you?" He asks gazing at you. "I'm doing good." Alfred feels really nervous and scratches the back of his head.  "Umm, would you like something to drink?" You smile small and nod. "Yeah, some punch or something would rock." He laughs and you do too. "Alright then, be right back." Alfred gets up and walks off disappearing in the crowd.

You sit back in your seat and scan the area. All of the sudden a rose is in your face. You look up and see Matthew. "Here." He says and you  smell it's light scent. "Ah, Thank you Matthew." He moves behind you and puts it through your hair. You smile at him and he puts his hand out.

"Would you like to dance with me?" He asked his eyes hinting fear. You don't notice and stand up putting your hand into his. "I'd love to." You say. He takes your hand and puts it to his lips and kisses it. Your face heats up bright. When was Matthew like this? He looks up at you and grins even though inside he is scared to death. "Lets go." He walks with you, your fingers intertwined.

As you walk Alfred finds you and stops both of you. "Dude, there ya are!" He said grinning. You totally forgot to wait for him. He glanced at his brother. "Can I ask you a favor?" He asks. Matthew nods feeling weary. "Hold this drink for me." He holds it out and Matthew takes it letting go of your hand. He didn't want to though.

Alfred then bended down in a gentlemanly manner. "May I have this dance?" He asks and you smirk at him. Were the two brothers on crack or something today? You take his hands and start a simple waltz. Matthew on the other hand held the plastic cup and wanted to crush it , but that'd ruin his suit.

Francis glared at Arthur as they sat at a table watching from a far. "That was a total foul!" He huffed. Arthur shook his head. "It was Matthew who gave her up." He said smiling to himself. Francis shook his head. "It's still not right! Things we're going well." Arthur looked at him tiredly. He didn't care to argue. "And now there not." Francis sighed. "We'll see."

The song ended and you looked to your side and saw Matthew looking sad. You lean and whisper to Alfred. He nods. "That's cool man, he could use that." He walks off and you go in front of Matthew. He had just decided to throw away the cup. "Hey…" You say and he looks up at you.

"Oh hi." He tries to remember what to do. 'Don't be afraid, just act as if you're the only man in the whole place.' He thought as Francis told him to, but it didn't work well. A new song slowly started. He bit his lip and slyly put his arms around your waist. You grow alert and he has a humble expression. "Dance?" He mumbled feeling his insecurities again. You wrap your arms around his neck and sway to the rhythm.

He still had a look of depression on his face. "What's on your mind?" You say quietly snapping him out of his own thoughts. He looks away with his red cheeks. "C-can I tell you something?" You were a little confused at him asking to tell you something. It had to be important then. "Of course."

He takes a breath and stares into your bright eyes. "(Name), You know you're so beautiful and just an overall amazing women….I think you have a wonderful personality and a great sense of humor. You always talk and listen to me ,and not many people do that." He stops and moved one of his hands to your cheek and brushes some of your hair behind your ear.

"I really like you (Name), and I wanted to know if you'd like to date me."  You feel your heart skip a beat. In a blink of an eye Matthew tilts his head and presses his lips to yours. You try to process what's going on. Matthew, Alfred's brother,  was kissing you and confessing. You were so stunned and didn't kiss back so Matthew pulls away. He feared you must not like him since you didn't even react a bit to his kiss. "I'm so-" He was cut off when you pulled him in and planted a tender kiss on him.

He closes his eyes and kisses back, letting go off his fear. Arthur sees this and Alfred in the corner laughing. "Damn it!" He cursed under his breath. Francis  sneered. "The land of love's tactics always work." He cooed. "Bugger off."

Alfred then walked and stood in front of them. "Dudes, look at Mattie over there. I'm so psyched for him!" Arthur's eyes twitched. "Don't you like her?" Alfred nodded. "Yeah, but Matthew needs a girl, and there's tons of fish in the sea." Arthur cringed. "I hate you." He muttered.

You leaned your head on Matthew's chest and he smiled wide. The music had stopped and you were standing just like that. "Yes." You say. Matthew strokes your hair lightly as he held you in his arms. "Yes what?" He asked. You look up at him with your eyes gleaming with joy. "Yes, I'll date you."

He closes his eyes and kisses back, letting go off his fear. Arthur sees this and Alfred in the corner laughing. "Damn it!" He cursed under his breath. Francis  sneered. "The land of love's tactics always work." He cooed. "Bugger off."

Alfred then walked and stood in front of them. "Dudes, look at Mattie over there. I'm so psyched for him!" Arthur's eyes twitched. "Don't you like her?" Alfred nodded. "Yeah, but Matthew needs a girl, and there's tons of fish in the sea." Arthur cringed. "I hate you." He muttered.

You leaned your head on Matthew's chest and he smiled wide. The music had stopped and you were standing just like that. "Yes." You say. Matthew strokes your hair lightly as he held you in his arms. "Yes what?" He asked. You look up at him with your eyes gleaming with joy. "Yes, I'll date you."
