Elizabeth Taylor possesses one of the most beautiful faces in Hollywood. This one of a kind custom repaint is inspired by her character in the film "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"

The base doll used is Franklin Mint's 15-inch Elizabeth Taylor doll. (shown on the bottom of the picture)

So , as I always do, I completely removed factory facial painting and hand painted the doll to infuse it with the essence and character of Elizabeth Taylor as she appeared in "Cat on a Hot Tine Roof". This was achieved with an exacting level of accuracy as well as shading and layering of colors, some of which are very subtle. To further add to the realism, I carefully painted in the hairline to replicate Taylor's. These were all intended to bring out the luminescence of Taylor's radiant beauty.

The inset photo in the bottom shows the doll as it looked originally before repainting.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise as well as carefully paying attention to proper scale.
