I got it on eBay... It's actually a seat belt/harness. It has a adapter that plugs into the seat belt in my car! You can find cat harnesses anywhere but it's hard to find a good one. I look for ones that have thick straps and padding on the bottom, as some cats can get really freaked out and hurt themselves!

I love Moo Man! This is adorable! And I applaud you for the leash. Most all my cats were indoors and or on leash, not counting when I was a little kid and cats were not allowed inside and were left by my mother to roam outside. I've taken care of 18 so far in my 62 years, all strays except for 2 purchased male Siamese and 1 purchased female. I've none now. I miss having a cat very much, but my life and where I live don't allow at this time.

My parents also just let the cats out (we lived in the country). But all mine are indoor, and all of them are rescue! I have three of my own and two rescue (too many!). I hope you can have cats again. I didn't have any pets for about a year, and I was a sad panda.

Wow, without cats you turn into a panda? Hey, I'm without cats. I wish I could turn into age 25 and back at college again. Kidding you! Besides which I don't want to backup out of having my only son!
And, yes, without cats I turn into a sad panda, too. In my 62+ years I've been without a cat only a bit over 3 years. That's one hella lotta years of being with at least one cat! Also included dogs, horses, parrots, parakeets, canaries, bunnies, mice, rats, cows, sheep, wild/semi-tamed geese, various bugs in captivity, butterflies hatching in jars, ant farms, chickens and or pigs... not all at same time, not all in same decade... nevertheless. No, didn't live on a farm. Lived outside the city limits of a very small rural town on a couple acres, surrounded by lots of open fields, and was born to farmers/ranchers/orchardists, etc. Dad especially liked to give us kids a lot of hands-on experience with nature and wildlife and survival and great vacations.

But I fall in love with ALL of them and want to take them home. Well, maybe not the elephants and tigers and rhinos and... oh wait... I don't live in Africa. Hmmm... well...
You know what I mean, though.
I did try to do volunteer with SPCA, buying/bringing bags of food, but every time I went into the rooms with all the caged kitties, I almost didn't get out alive. Soon as I went in there, they were coming to the cage doors, reaching out, meowing, begging for me to save them... a room full of fear and agony and desperation... I tend to be a bit naturally empath/empathic... and all I could do was walk around telling them I was sorry and loved them and hoped they all find homes. I left, in tears. Shook to the core for weeks. I couldn't return. Not selfish. Just not very strong in these cases. Strong in many ways, just not in these.
I rescued 15 cats in my lifetime (as strays, some were kittens and would have outright died). I rescued a few dogs. And some birds (tame and also wild). I fed wild birds during droughts and low seed areas. And other things not coming to mind at the moment. I've at least done that. Hopefully it's enough. I do hope to have another kitten someday, if/when I can get moved. Though not sure I have up to 20 years to devote my own life to them. I worry what will happen should I become ill or die or run out of funds. Once cats are tamed they can't be put outside to fend for self any longer. And all my cats would be inside, for their sake.
Complex situation, unfortunately.
