You're probably not going to like the answer.
I leaned against one of the residence halls here on campus and had this thought: "This must be what it feels like to be Spider Man."
After about ten minutes of tripping at this simple and natural abstract experience, I took a picture. Practically right before uploading I copied the image and pasted it upside down, then changed the color around.
Tadaa.

That's not bad. I think that would count as a diptych actually. It's still just as cool! Honestly, I don't think it really matters how you make something look awesome, and it really bugs me when people say, "Oh, that's cheating!" It's art, and if it looks good, it shouldn't matter how it was made. Even the simplest of techniques can produce amazing results, like here.
That said, congratulations.
