Description 2021, sketch book, and mechanical pencil.

Eusmilus adelos is a largest known(~111kg) hoplophoninae nimravid(false saber-toothed cats), that classified as a new species this year.

The discovery of E. adelos suggests that nimravids went along derived evolutionary pathways; conical-toothed, dirk-toothed, and scimitar-toothed, with and that their evolutionary paths split in two, leading to saber-toothed and conical-tooth forms that convergently evolved with those of true felids tens of millions of years later.

According to the researcher(Paul Z. Barrett), referring to cats as ‘nimravid-like’ would be most appropriate!

This picture was drawn by referring to the scientifically published illustration of paleoartist Dhruv franklin's skeleton.
