A 'very' poor photograph of a workshop with hyperrealist artist Dirk Dzimirsky (pronounced 'Jimirsky'). After initial elation at this drawing, seeing simply the 'degree' to which it differs from the reference, it makes me want to destroy this piece, with how much frustration and angst it's caused me - and it's 'maybe' hallway done!
The workshop was in ... '13?, in Arizona, for one week. As I attended it with another person, I wasn't able to invest nearly as much time to this portrait as I would have enjoyed, but life's life and we learn from everything, right?
To say the workshop was frustrating is a euphemism, as I found the majority of it horribly aggravating, a tax on my nerves I had issues dealing with. But, negative emotions and slower speed aside, overall, I found the experience 'very' enjoyable and thoroughly worth the investment of attending. I learned 'so' many new things from him, and have already used some of his new tactics in future artwork pieces.
