As Cecil was takin' back to the camp and bandaged, he wakes up hours later as the sun is setting.

"Oh hey! You're awake, Cecil!"

Cecil looks to his side and see one of his fellow squires sitting next to him. Realizing his wound, he winces from the pain and slowly traces ridge of his nose.

"Man, that's gonna be a pretty cool scar once it heals."
"I mean, scars make the man, right?"
"You are being a bit loud right now-"
"Ah!"

Cecil quickly sits up and is hit with pain from a minor headache.
The strong smell of blood from bandage wrapped across his nose that is now stuck to his face from the dried blood.

"I need to get back to the battle and help!"
"Whoa, Whoa! Calm down, Cecil! You're not going anywhere."

The squire leans over holding his hands up to Cecil to stop him.

"Oh, that's right. "He" wanted to know when you woke up."
"Listen, Cecil. You need to stay here and rest."

"There are plenty who have wounds worst than mine who still fight."

"Yeah, I know. But, do you know how unbelievably lucky you are to take a wound to the face like that and have it be shallow?"
"You could have had your nose chopped off...Or worst, have had your face cut in half."

"..."

The squire gets to his feet and points a finger to Cecil

"Stay here and don't get up, okay?"
"I will see you later."

Cecil looks at the tent's entrance where the squire just left, light from the sunset pouring though.
The last thing he remembered was the horrible pain all over his face and having a doctor clean and wrap his wound.
Cecil gently touches the blood soaked bandage across his nose, the slight stinging pain still felt from the gash.
He sat there in silence for a moment until the shadow of someone entering the tent caught his attention.

"Finally awake, huh."

Crowley stands at the tents entrance with a small smile, tattered along with blood stains on his white crusader clothing.
Cecil is a bit surprised to see him and sits up straight to greet him.

"Sir Crowley."
"Relax. No need to get so stiff."

Crowley walks in and stands near Cecil

"Sir, what are you doing here? What about the tower?"
"The tower is ours."
"!!"
"Really!? We captured it?"
"...I wish I was there to help."

Crowley sits down

"Hey, even if you weren't there when we captured it, you still helped in the beginning."
"I'm just glad you weren't killed. We lost many in that battle."
"Thank you, Sir Crowley."
"How do you feel? You took a pretty bad hit out there."
"They said the wound is not deep but, they are worried about infections since it is on my face."

"Yeah. If it's not the wound that kills us it's the infections that do."
"But, if that body of yours fights as well as you do. You'll be fine."

"Heh."
"...Cecil, about the knight you serve...Sir Gavin."
"He died, didn't he...?
"...Yeah."
"If I had been there to help him-"
"Even if you were there I doubt you could have helped him. Protecting each other in battle is not easy when you must watch for your own life as well."
"But, wouldn't it have been better to loose the life of a simple squire rather than a knight?"
"Loosing any lives is a loss. He was a kind and strong knight, but sometimes battle gets the best of us. Be proud to have served him and been his squire."
"...Yes."

"You know, Cecil, you surprise me."
"?"
"You are not the strongest among the squires but, what you lack in strength you made up for in speed."
"Honestly, You are more skilled than most of the squires."
"You will make a great knight one day."
"Ah, but don't tell the others I said that."

"Ha! Thank you so much, Sir Cowley! That means so much coming from you!"
"I will recover soon and be back to help take Damietta!"
"No need to rush, Cecil. We'll be recovering ourselves for short time."
"We have many injured that need to be treated before we try to take the city."
"All the more reason to heal quickly."
"Haha, glad to see your spirit is still strong."

Crowley leans over and taps Cecil's shoulder before getting up.

"Alright, I still got things I have to do."
"Sir Crowley."
"Hmm?"
"Thank you for coming see me and for telling me about Sir Gavin."
"I will continue to fight with everything I have got."

Crowley gives gentle nod

"Rest up. Dinner will be served soon."
"Sir."

Sir Gavin, The knight Cecil served for the last few years since becoming a squire, was a kind and gentle man who Cecil looked up to and respected greatly.
He taught Cecil sword fighting and many other useful battle tactics. He could be a bit tough sometimes but only because he saw the potential Cecil had when swinging a sword.
Cecil's first real loss since the crusade began, the first of many to follow.
The greatest honor is fighting along side these men as they take attempt back the Holy Land.
