Description

Went to the vets last week and we have some early kidney issues.
Though we caught it early enough that we need to feed her more soft food to keep her hydrated and hopefully, that will reverse or stabilize the kidney issues for a while.
Then repeat blood work every 6-12 months to make sure she continues to do okay.
She will be 15 next spring!

Got her special kidney food in the mail today.
Mixed it with some of her other soft food, picked up moouse/extra hydrated wet food today to mix in with it too.
She ate about of a can of the kidney food today and 4-6oz of the other food, she still been eating some of the hard food too.
She drinks a lot of water too.
She has also been playing with her toys, running through the house, chasing/following me everywhere I go. She even tried to follow me outside when I was doing errands tonight.
I just keep praying that she can reverse this kidney stuff or at least slow it down, I am not ready to say goodbye to another kitty. Already said goodbye to one fur baby this year in January
I believe I will see all our babies again someday, but Id love to have as many years with them as I can before that time comes
You can also see partly where they shaved her neck to take blood, her allergies were acting up so she had been sneezing a lot too.
She sneezed mid blood draw so they had to shave the other side of her neck to take more blood, poor girl.
Though her nose is doing better since she got her antibiotic shot!

Kidney issues are very common with order kitties due to the pet food industry over the years putting so many fillers in their foods like rice/corn etc.
Even when you get foods that say "grain free" there is still grain in them...
When there is a certain amount they don't have to put it on the label.
There is no right or wrong way to feed our animals though.
But they do say stay away from the foods that have 3+ years shelf life on the label, there are some out there, usually the cheap ones.

Vets say she is doing really well though.
She is far from being so bad that we need to say goodbye
We had other kitties that had kidney issues that are at the rainbow bridge now that didn't start showing symptoms till they were really bad
Miss Fuzzy just started with the weight loss, not a lot of weight loss but enough that we could tell and took her to the vet for a checkup
Our vets say we take very amazing care of our pets, they are well loved and live much longer then most pets they see.
Our oldest kitty we ever had was 21
