Description sort of.... o_o Β I tried to make her bootyiful OK


Another sketch dump, the lighting made the drawing look ancient dayum

You can see how my pencil sketches are like xD I got lazy with some parts since I had to wrap up what I was drawing to do something else. I have this pencil shading I do that I can't replicate exactly with a tablet :c


I've been busy and didn't really get to the old computer where my ancient Photoshop is waiting but I will in the next couple days hopefully!!


Anyway, I don't know if she should be an actual OC of mine, she was just a random elf lady. yea

I have trouble using realism and still keeping the anime features. It either ends up realistic or pure anime. Any tips?

well, I'm not really that good at teaching or anything but I'll just tell you what I know haha


The thing that really makes a drawing have anime features are the large shiny eyes xD Β Also anime is minimalistic, for example even above I do not shade in full lips, just the shape of it.

What makes something realistic is the shading! I focused (face-wise) on the bridge of the nose, and emphasize the lips SLIGHTLY.


Basically you have to find your own balance between realism and anime. For example, no human has those kind of face proportions above (the elf has really large eyes, like eyelashes, small mouth, and sharp jawline/small face), since I used anime proportions.Β 


How I did this one was I drew it purely anime at first, then added shades and tones that you would see when looking at a human face to suggest 3D features. I don't know how much this helps you, but that's about it xDDD also the hair should be flowing and not "blocky" to make it more realistic.

Thanks! yeah, I was going for some more "realism" here, in terms of the shading for the face. Of course I kept the anime features, with the big eyes and sharp face shape ;3
