So Frisk plays the trumpet, eh? I can see it. Lol Papyrus trying to figure out music; I've gotta wonder what instrument he'd play. Or even what kind of music he likes. I hope it's death metal.
And yes! return of the mismatched socks. NiceΒ π

Did you... Get my message last night... and then go about looking at ALL my deviations and commenting all at once?
I'm not much of an artist.
I play ALL of the instruments features in "megalovania for brass" EXCEPT the drum set, which is why the part for it is fairly simple. I honestly don't know how to write for drum set. This entire arrangement is completely playable, because I personally know the limits of each instrument. But not the drum set. In my actual score there are places where the drumset part literally just says "have fun with this and improvise a bit"
The tuba and trombone parts are nearly identical except for in a few key spots where I wanted to highlight one or the other. The trombone is only really there at all because SANS.
It's actually fairly typical of tuba parts to be this samey, and many trumpeters switch to tuba because they're lazy. The instrument has the same fingerings as the trumpet, but the parts all... tend to look like that.
The trombone, on the other hand? The fast pace of the piece does not bode well for the poor trombonist's arm had I given them any melody. It is very rare to see anything faster than eighth notes in a trombone part.
Every instrument has its own personality. And YES, Frisk in any interpretation is a trumpet player. The trumpet is easily the most "determined" of instruments. It's the most powerful instrument in any group, capable of the greatest range of of dynamic expression. It is also impossible to hide. If you study the trumpet, you are aware that every fuckup you make is GOING to be audible if you make it (unlike, say, the Clarinet, which easily hides behind the saxophone or trumpet). Trumpeters have to be bold, expressive, and determined above all else. The trombone is sort of the trumpet's goofy cousin, and in that, it suits Sans flawlessly.
