I like the connection you are drawing between the 11th Legion and the Grey Knights, who are based on Titan and came about rather quickly and quietly.

I also made my own XI Primarch. I have to say yours is pretty damn awesome. The connection to his men is the best part if you ask me.

still something we have to consider that IS CANON that conflicts with your story....both the legions of 2 and 11 fought only in the days of the early Great Crusade then died out because they couldn't rebuild their ranks without their primarch around. all records of legion 2 and 11 space marines were erased, hell we don't even know their name or colour or banner or anything.

You should read my own comment to this picture. There is a phrase "This is not a canon!". ) My English isn't very good but I hope the phrase is quite understandable. Also I recommend you to read "The First Heretic" by A. Dembski-Bowden. There are a bit information about those two primarchs.
Thank you. )

personally i prefer the whole thing surrounding Primarchs II and XI and their legions (aside from what has been mentioned in canon books) as a mystery, it is nice to leave some things that way, it is better, for all we know maybe Primarch II and XI are meant to come to the aid of the Imperium at the End of Days that both Vulkan and Russ spoke off, in the final battle. we don't know do we? or maybe their fates are meant to be left a mystery for all eternity. that is not to say i don't like these images nad portraits any less, they are awesome and i will forever picture them this way now until proven otherwise probably. there is a loads of canon stuff refering to the mystery primarchs n their legions though; the canon chaos warband called the the "Reborn"; some believe they are remnants of one of the two legions. i haven't got up to first heretic yet...even for me who reads pretty damn fast i find the books pretty slow going with all the detail...can't even remember the last book i read actually...

I always interpreted it as the 2 forgotten ones were expunged due to a different reason. By simply leaving the Imperium. It would be an insult to the Emperor himself. Another reason that the traitors were not expunged themselves was because the Emperor couldn't give the order to do so, since he had more important orders to give on his last words. In the lore the Second and Eleventh are possibly still alive, as they are referred to as absent but not fallen. The action of simply leaving the Imperium would be extremely shameful as it would be to ignore the existence of the Emperor. The traitors still know the Emperor is there, and is their enemy and their presence can't be ignored so they can't truly be expunged.
However on the edge of the galaxy, hiding somewhere waiting to return to the Imperium at the point where he is needed the most the 11th or 2nd will return. Since "fully half" sided with Horus, it is assumed that one is sided with chaos and the other still loyal.

This is a great piece of artwork! Two thumbs way way up! Not to mention when I look at this man....I can almost SWEAR I can see the Blood Ravens coming form this guy. Could he be the Father of the Blood Ravens? Could he be the Mysterious Unknown Primarch of Blood Raven Legacy? Could he still be out there....watching his "family" and praying for their safety? Anyway, great picture.

his closeness to his officers sounds a lot like Corax, Corax believed in equality, he hated the title warmaster, only one man deserved to be above him and his brothers and that was the Emperor. he saw his officers as equal and he was the only primarch who never wore capes or other symbolic things of superiority. i also can't help but notice this image of the eleventh looks a lot liek corax in his early days, before his skin went VERY white and his hair grew long. this eleventh has a jetpack too, corax n sanguinius are the only known primarchs to fly. anyway it's an awesoem view n idea for the eleventh but i prefer to keep the 2nd n 11th as a mystery that is never revealed it's more interesting. also the recent books say that primarch 11 was destroyed his incubator tank exploded.

i can't remember EXACTLY but i know it was either in horus rising, false god or galaxy in flames. it's what Horus sees while in a coma, he sees him n his brothers in the incubators n number 11 doesn't get sucked into the warp it explodes. it could be wrong anyway i'm just aying it's a possibilty

I think it was G. McNeill's "False Gods". But these visions could be also provided by the gods of Chaos.

Не хочу показаться совсем неграмотным, но снова вопрос: об одинадцаттом легионе почти ничего не известно и поэтому этот портрет примарха - импровизация? Или я ошибаюсь?

Noldofinve In reply to exDemonius [2010-02-25 08:13:04 +0000 UTC]

Not yet, I will devise one, one day... Maybe even in close time, in the meantime, visit my gallery and check out his legion, they're the newest addition to my works ^_^
Oh, i know this isn't cannon, but the THe statue of Eleventh still remains in the imperial Palace, but it is damaged...And it was damaged long before his expungment ^_^
Returning to the idea of my primarch, I had a different approach... First, he, like Sanguinus was mutated by the warp, but in his case, it let him grow venom fangs and snake eyes...
He grew up on a desolated planet where people were really harsh, according to their environment. His whole life, he witnessed only death, sorrow, war and despair. He become the ruller of his birthplanet, but yet he couldn't stop the natural way of being that was of this planet... Then the emperor arrived. And everything changed. Seeing the sadness of his son, The Emperor made him do something he didn't do EVER... Made him Laugh. That saved the primarch.
As for his expungdment... It was to protect him and his mission, for the Azure Serpents, Later called the infinite Purple Serpents, where to keep an eye on the Adeptus Mechanicus and the burrowed Void Dragon. That's their History, which only some of the primarch's really know ( aside from the fact, that all of them knew who he was)
