The obligatory 'I Love Robert Carlyle' portrait. I got really impatient towards the end so I didn't finish the suit, the hair is quite dodgy and it generally is just... a bit meh. I may work on it more over time and upload an updated version but this is enough to get the need to draw him out of my system.Related content

Erik Destler, aka the proper name of The Phantom of the Opera. The musical that Andrew Lloyd Webber based on this 1909 French novel celebrated its 25th anniversary last October and its 10,000th performance on Broadway earlier this month.

Ah right.... Yeah I know Erik, the book is one of my favourite books and I love the musical too, but I know for certain Erik has no last name in either of those.
I had never heard of him being called 'Destler' before, and strikes me as odd coz it doesn't sound French but I had a look around and discovered that's because he was only named that in one film, and had a variety of different names in other movies. Understandable, I guess, that some people would give him a last name, but since his creator didn't I prefer to just call him Erik.
