This jacket and undervest were originally made for a pattern drafting project, but I always had this character in mind when I was making it. She just didn't have a name till recently.

If anyone stopped sewing because of me, I'd be very sad
I used to suck at sewing at one time in my life too. The only reason I can sew well now, is becuase I DIDN'T stop. And you'er 16!!! Thats when I really started sewing! Never say never!!!!!

Thanks ^.^ Its so inspiring to look at your work its all SO beautiful and creative. Do you use patterns or do you just know what you are making and go along piecing it together?

I used to use patterns all the time, but I usually altered them. This piece was for a pattern drafting class in my second year of art school, so the pattern is designed and drafted by me. Now I do all my own pattern drafting.

But useing just plain old costume patterns is a great way to start. ^_^

It's hand dyed cotton velvet and leather.
