Description
Of all of characters, I have to admit these four are my absolute favorites (yes, Sheshiek, I still love you ). From left to right they are: Odette, Lillian, Kota, and Nara. While all their stories are set in a fantasy world, I decided to send them off into a scifi realm.

Here's the opening of the story I'm working on to go with this piece. Recon 1
On July 12, 1598 Conquistador Diego de la Carrera, member of the third Nuevo Mexico expedition, vanished without a trace. In late October 1628, priests found him sitting on the front steps of Mission Del Santa Fe telling fantastic stories of passing through an archway and being held captive by the Children of Anubis. The only known portrait of him shows what is believed to be a tattoo of the Eye of Ra on his right cheek. Quietly retiring to Mission del Taos, he spent the remaining years of his life writing memoirs of his 3-decade absence. Most dismissed his writings as fiction, until several University of New Mexico Territory students discovered them in the school archive in 1896. Using references in the memoirs, the archway was relocated in 1899 at the bottom of a remote canyon in the northwestern corner of the territory. In the 200 years since the rediscovery, 415 worlds have been discovered with 9 being inhabited. As to whether the archways
