I have a lot of trouble trying to appreciate the current culture. Carrie Fisher plays a lot into that. I grew up with nearly all the females in all my fiction being bad ass. The type of women that didn't depend on anything and strangled with chains. The real ending of RETURN OF THE JEDI had Luke and Leia parting ways. These characters taught life wasn't about the happy ending but the constant hustling struggle. The pieces are always a mess and the job needs doing. When I got the opportunity to draw Leia, with no prompt, I was quick to use the forgotten Endor costume. It's hidden underneath that poncho so it's not as quick remembered but I figure if you're going to capture Leia then that's the time, Empire, after Han and Lando have fallen.
